==============================

Water baptism in the name of Jesus for remission of sins. A beautiful supernatural experience. Supported by Acts 2:38 and many additional verses.

Acts 2:38 (AV) - King James Bible
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Foundational doctrine! Many here hold strongly to this today. Many can testify to the supernatural spiritual visceral cleansing life-changing event.

And sometimes even children were baptized.

Around 1982, the necessity was added that the person being baptized would give a testimony, an idea close to the experience of the eunuch in Acts 8:37:

Acts 8:37 (AV)
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

And this verse was utilized in support:

1 Timothy 5:12 (AV)
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

(A verse nor considered scripture today at Homestead, due to their Bible confusions and compromises.)

This testimony with water baptism was a sensible addition.

Later at Homestead water baptism morphed into baptism into the “body of Christ,” including a vow and pledge to essentially forever accept the ministry authority. (Clearly, this has a problematic element.) This could include long Q&A or signature paperwork.

Baptism for remission of sins faded into the background. It is not mentioned on the web-site statement of faith.

Similarly, the blood of Jesus faded into the background, from the early days .. Oh, precious is the flow ...

Sadly, a terrible heresy crept in as well. The gibberish word “Yahshua”, which is not Hebrew and which originated as a support for the Yahweh/Jupiter devil, snuck into the water baptism. Sometimes elbowing out the Lord Jesus Christ totally, sometimes combined in a sweet/bitter mixture.

Knowing the scriptures, there should not be supernatural remission of sins in a water baptism in the name of the gibberish “Yahshua”. No more than in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Yahshua combined with Jesus - very questionable. Because Yahshua is an affirmation of the Jupiter devil.

2 Corinthians 6:14 (AV)
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

So it is very questionable whether Homestead Heritage members of these last decades have truly had the blood of Jesus applied in water baptism. With Yahshua the focus, they have not been born of water.

Colossians 3:17 (AV)
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Thus, they even desire to make their own Version!

And those who have said goodbye to Homestead, since about 1990, should consider whether they need to seek the true water baptism in Jesus name for remission of sins!

One more point to note about Homestead and water baptism, on the Statement of Faith Online they placed the claim that the baptism is a "pledge of the old nature". This is absurd and heretical, since a pledge is something of value!

Blessings and grace in Jesus name!
