Below is a list of New Testament passages which explicitly assign responsibility for Christ’s death to the Jewish leaders and to the Jewish people:

1 Thessalonians 2:14–15 — “For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of THE JEWS: WHO BOTH KILLED THE LORD JESUS, AND THEIR OWN PROPHETS, and have persecuted us…”

Acts 2:23 — “Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, YE HAVE TAKEN, AND BY WICKED HANDS HAVE CRUCIFIED AND SLAIN.”

Acts 3:14–15 — “But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; AND KILLED THE PRINCE OF LIFE, whom God hath raised from the dead…”

Acts 7:52 — “Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; OF WHOM YE HAVE BEEN NOW THE BETRAYERS AND MURDERERS…”

Matthew 21:38–39 — “But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, THIS IS THE HEIR; COME, LET US KILL HIM, and let us seize on his inheritance. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.” (Applied directly to Israel’s leaders in Matthew 21:45.)

Matthew 27:25 — “Then answered all the people, and said, HIS BLOOD BE ON US, AND ON OUR CHILDREN.”

John 5:16–18 — “And therefore did THE JEWS PERSECUTE JESUS, AND SOUGHT TO SLAY HIM… Therefore THE JEWS SOUGHT THE MORE TO KILL HIM…”

John 7:1 — “After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, BECAUSE THE JEWS SOUGHT TO KILL HIM.”

John 8:37, 40 — “YE SEEK TO KILL ME… But now YE SEEK TO KILL ME, a man that hath told you the truth…”

John 18:31 — “Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, IT IS NOT LAWFUL FOR US TO PUT ANY MAN TO DEATH…”

Acts 4:10 — “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, WHOM YE CRUCIFIED, whom God raised from the dead…”

Acts 5:30 — “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, WHOM YE SLEW AND HANGED ON A TREE.”

Acts 10:39 — “And we are witnesses of all things which he did… WHOM THEY SLEW AND HANGED ON A TREE.”

Acts 13:27–28 — “For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers… THEY HAVE FULFILLED THEM IN CONDEMNING HIM. And though they found no cause of death in him, YET DESIRED THEY PILATE THAT HE SHOULD BE SLAIN.
