Confession for Baptism and Communion

17 Nonviolence and Nonresistance p. 67

I confess with a nonnegotiable conviction that the New Testament makes clear that no believer should ever take up any weapons of any natural sort, or in any other way resort to physical violence or even physical resistance against any person under any circumstance, even in self-defense or the defense of loved ones (Luke 6:27-31; Matt. 5:38-48; Rom. 12:17-21;John 18:10-11,36; Luke 9:31-56; 14.26, 2 Cor. 10:3-6; Eph. 6:10-18; 1 Pet. 2:19-25; Col. 2:15, NIV; Heb. 2:14-15; 1 Qgr. 1:23-25; 2:2-3.6-8).
I confess my absolute conviction and clear understanding of why I can never physically participate in the execution of the compulsory judgment of the
State by serving as judge or juror (Luke I*, j.3-14; 2 Cor. 5:18-20; James 2:12-13; 1 Cor. 5:12-6:1; Lev. 19:16; James 4:11-12).
