Coming from an Anabaptist tradition myself, I feel Mr. Avery has not understood that Anabaptist from Germany and Switzerland would not use other than Luther's Bible. They would not have had an interest in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, or Latin, and in the case of the Schwarzenau Brethren absolutely no interest in creeds and confessions. Though never using formal creedal language, my understanding of trinitarian thought from childhood onward is in alignment with classic orthodox thinking. The primary example of this understanding is at baptism when the individual is baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Luther's Bible is still much used in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania today.

Josef
