I wonder if James White would comment on the white parchment and stain-free condition of the Codex Frederico-Augustanus section of Sinaiticus. That is the 43 leaves section that journeyed with Tischendorf to Leipsig in 1844. And compare that white parchment to the "vellum leaves, now almost yellow in color" (Full Collation of the Codex Sinaiticus, Scrivener p. xxx) condition of the rest of Sinaiticus, as quoted in the Full Collation of the Codex Sinaiticus, Scrivener p. xxx, describing the condition of the rest of Sinaiticus, which was brought to Russian in the the 1859 loan, or heist.

    http://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/sacre...odexsinai.html
The Codex Sinaiticus Project was primarily a conservation, digitisation, transcription and publication project. It did not undertake a new English translation of the New Testament from the manuscript. The English translation included in the Codex Sinaiticus website was taken from H. T. Anderson, The New Testament: translated from the Sinaitic manuscript discovered by Constantine Tischendorf at Mt Sinai (Cincinnati, 1918). It was included only to provide a navigational aid to users of the website.

Vaticanus was overwritten. If Sinaiticus is the singular "proof", it may more an evidence for the lateness of Sinaiticus than the super-resiliency of the ink and parchment.

  2. Default New Finds

    The New Finds
    http://www.sinaimonastery.com/en/index.php?lid=106

On May 25, 1975, Archimandrite Sophronius, then the Skevophylax of the monastery, discovered a cache of manuscript leaves and fragments in the tower on the north wall of the monastery. The room where they were discovered had been used to store manuscripts in earlier centuries, and when the manuscripts were transferred to a new location in the early eighteenth century, these damaged leaves and fragments had been left behind. These were subsequently hidden when the floor above the room gave way during an earthquake. They were recovered during the renovation of the tower. When the mass of leaves and fragments had been gathered and sorted, they were found to reflect the diverse languages found in the library: the majority of the manuscripts were in Greek, with the majority of the others in Arabic, Syriac, Slavonic, and Georgian. There were also texts in Hebrew, Latin, and Ethiopian.

The content of these leaves also corresponds to that of the library. There are copies of the scriptures, service books, patristic texts, and more specifically monastic texts.

The most important documents were twelve pages and twenty-four fragments of the fourth century Codex Sinaiticus, and leaves from a psalter written in 862/3, the rest of which had been taken by Porphiry Uspenski in the nineteenth century. Also discovered were eighth century leaves of the Ladder of Divine Ascent by Saint John Climacus. These leaves are the oldest that survive, written within one hundred years of the composition of that book. Also of interest were leaves of Homer’s Iliad, written in the ninth century. The most significant Georgian manuscript was a palimpsest, and the underwriting was identified as Caucasian Albanian, the ancestor of the language spoken by the Udi people, most of which live in Azerbaijan. No other example of Caucasian Albanian has survived, except for a few inscriptions carved on stone, and a copy of the alphabet preserved in an Armenian grammar book. Thus the recovery of this text required the entire reconstruction of the language, based on these few extant examples. The palimpsest text is a copy of the Lectionary, and may date from the late fourth or early fifth century. Before the discovery of this manuscript, it was not known that the Gospels had been translated into Caucasian Albanian.

All of these manuscripts are of the greatest interest to students of paleography. They contain examples of Greek script from the seventh to the ninth centuries, which are critical to a reconstruction of the development of Greek handwriting.

Preliminary catalogues of the New Finds have been published, and scholars are only now beginning to consider these texts in more detail.

Greek and Latin Manuscripts at Sinai (2010)
    Georgi Parpulov
    https://www.academia.edu/1491824/Gre...ripts_at_Sinai

A major discovery occurred at Sinai, accidentally, in the wake of yet another war, in 1975, when complete volumes as well as isolated fragments came to light in a storeroom that had been immured and forgotten for at least a century. Theprocessing of these new finds was at first exclusively entrusted to Athenian experts. In the case of manuscripts in Greek, by far the most numerous, their labour of love bore fruit some two decades later.22 The fact that this valuable publication is illustrated with a number of photographs and that it records leaf measurements has allowed for identifying a good many items catalogued in it as fragments coming from volumes in the principal, previously known part of the monastery's library.23 (A list of a few such identifications made by myself appears below.) The statement that "the microfilming of all the finds... has been completed by now as regards the Greek MSS, both the complete codices and the single folios and fragments" 24 does not correspond to reality: for the time time being, scholars who study the 1975 finds need to handle them directly. 25 In 2002 one of them reported: "I found it impossible to count the leaves; most of the manuscript [NF M 163] is in a truly miserable state, and I refrained from making a full description in order not to contribute to its further deterioration".26 The full conservation and photographing of the Sinai manuscripts discovered nearly four decades ago remain outstanding tasks.

When you see yellowed parchment like in 2427, it is either quite old, used for a long time ... or it has been made to look old. If you see white parchment-- it has been kept in a container away from the elements, or it has been cleaned with Comet, or it is quite young.
The German CFA-Sinaiticus leaves are nice, good conservation, flexible, clean white parchment, consistent colour on all leaves, even edges generally clean (little handling).
    You do the math.
" made to look old." .. maybe could be high-tech ... or more simply tea, coffee, lemon-juice, herbs

Works well in Google mangle. A couple of interesting points. Somewhat of a dupe, simply believing Tischendorf. An example of his disaster is his brush-off of Uspensky, equating him with MacDonald. Soemwhat of an ignoramus section, for a supposed Tischendorf-Sinaiticus scholar.
